If you would like to join us at Thai 1 Restaurant on East Hill on Wednesday 13th July please add your name to the list at the back of St James. The cost will be £15-00 for two courses. All profits from this evening will be donated to church funds. Everyone is welcome.

Children’s Tea Partycakesale

The Children’s Tea Party will be held at the Rectory on Saturday 16th July beginning at 3-00pm with a prompt 4-30pm finish. Tea will be served and there will be party games and other activities and there will be Face Painting for the children.  Everyone welcome, no charge will be made but please respond to your invitation to aid us with planning and catering arrangements.

Greyfriars

A Sunday lunch has been organised at Greyfriars on Sunday 14th August to help us celebrate the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. A special rate of £20-00 per person has been arranged, which is less than the regular rate although the menu will be their usual one. This would be for three courses, drinks would be extra.

Please add your name to the list in church if you would like to join us by Sunday 10th July please. A non-returnable deposit of £10-00 will be required at booking and this can be passed to Clare Moles or Fr Peter or if you prefer you could pay the whole amount at that point. We are limited to 40 people but there will also be a waiting list if the 40 spaces are all taken.

Special Services July/August

St James’ School

St James’ School will come up to church on Wednesday 20th July for their end of year leavers Eucharist.  It is very important to encourage the children in their worship please come and support them if you can. The Mass will begin at around 9-15am.

 St James’ Day

St James CrossSt James’ Day, Sunday 24th July, is a special day in the life of our church. It is a day of celebration for all that we have and share and one of prayer for guidance for the future. The Sung Mass will be at 10-00am. The preacher this year will be Fr Barry Hall SSC. The Mass will be followed by a Bring and Share lunch in the church and, weather permitting, the churchyard. 

 

Healing Mass

Healing-MassThe Sacraments of healing will be celebrated on Wednesday 24th August at the 7-00pm Mass. If you would like to receive these Sacraments please join us for the Mass on that day.
