The January House Mass will take place on Monday 25th January 8-00pm at the home of Brian Appleby, 27 Sweet Briar Road, Stanway, Colchester.

If you could host a House Mass for 2016, all that is needed is some space and a small table. A home in the parish or some of our neighbouring parishes is always an advantage.
The Holy Rosary will be prayed in St James on Monday 18th January at 7-30pm.
Please do come along to join us. Instruction is given if this form of prayer is new to you. Rosaries are available to borrow or to buy.
The great Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, when we remember the visit of the Wise Men to the child Jesus and Him being shown to the whole world will be observed on Sunday 3rd January with Mass at the usual Sunday times.
There will also be a said Mass on Wednesday 6th January at 7-00pm to mark the day.
The next Men’s Breakfast will meet on Saturday 23rd January, 8-00am in Church for Mass and then at the Rectory for breakfast and speaker. Our speaker will be Sir Bob Russell, who will be talking to us about various things, particularly the various ancient honorary titles he holds in the Borough of Colchester, such as High Steward.
Following the very enjoyable and successful evenings of the past, another evening has been organised at the Thai 1 restaurant on East Hill. Mass at 7-00pm and then we can move over to the restaurant for our meal. As before, the cost for two courses will be £ 15-00 and the bar will be open for anyone who would like to make use of it, a very fitting way to commemorate the visit of the Wise Men!
