Exposition 29 November

corpus christiAdvent begins on Sunday 29th November; it is one of the prime seasons of preparation and anticipation in the Church’s year. To give us a prayerful starting point, as well as the Sunday Mass there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction at 6-00pm that day. Please return to church to worship for a second time and commend Advent, one of the most wonderful seasons of the year, to God.

House Mass 23 November

The House Mass for October will be held on Monday 23rd November at 8-00pm at the home of Kate Thurston, 60b East Hill. This Mass is a wonderful time of less formal worship with an extended opportunity for prayer and a great time of fellowship to help build up the Body of Christ in our church and part of Colchester.

Please join us.

Service for the Bereaved

The annual service for those who have been bereaved, which St James hosts and organises in conjunction with the Hunnaball Family Funeral Service, will be held in St James on Saturday 21st November at 11-00am. Please come along if you feel this service may be of help to you and tell anyone else or perhaps bring them with you, if you know someone who might benefit from joining us. The preacher at this year’s ecumenical service will be the Bishop of Colchester.

The Holy Rosary 16 November

The Rosary will be prayed in St James on Monday 16th November at 7-30pm. This is a very important time of prayer in the parish and if you have not experienced it before, please come along and join us. If this style of prayer is new to you, do not worry as instruction is given. Rosaries are available to borrow if you do not have your own.

All Saints Day & All Souls Day

All Saints Day will be kept on Sunday 1st November with Mass at the usual Sunday times. This is a Holy Day of Obligation when we all ought to be at Mass if we possibly can.

The Commemoration of the Faithful Departed will be on Monday 2nd November. Mass in St James at 7-00pm. At this Mass the names of the Faithful Departed will be remembered.
